{"id":464,"date":"2011-07-30T22:42:50","date_gmt":"2011-07-30T21:42:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cdblog.cdstealer.com\/?p=464"},"modified":"2012-02-12T07:29:34","modified_gmt":"2012-02-12T07:29:34","slug":"audio-cd-ripper","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cdblog.cdstealer.com\/?p=464","title":{"rendered":"Audio CD Ripper"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A customisable cdripper script.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"the script\" href=\"http:\/\/cdstealer.com\/filez\/blog\/cdripper\">cdripper<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It took me a while to get this functioning how I wanted it.. but it seems to do the job.\u00a0 The script can be run as any user from any location.\u00a0 It will create a config file in ~\/.cdripper and work in ~\/tmp.\u00a0 I bunged it in \/usr\/local\/bin ($PATH) and made it executable.\u00a0 The config file will be used\u00a0 for defaults, but any arguments passed on the command line will over rule it.<\/p>\n<p>There are a couple of functions that require an internet connection ie: cddbdb and sample offset values.\u00a0 If no net connection is available, then cdtext will be used for id3tag and no sample offset will be used.<\/p>\n<p>Features:<br \/>\nCan use CDTEXT or FreeDB for id3tag info.<\/p>\n<p>Dependencies: (Versions at time of creation.)<\/p>\n<p>cdparanoia III release 10.2<br \/>\ncdda2wav 3.00<br \/>\nLAME version 3.98.4<br \/>\nid3tool version 1.2a<br \/>\nid3v2 0.1.11<br \/>\nUses id3lib-3.8.3<br \/>\nflac 1.2.1<br \/>\ncd-discid 0.9<br \/>\ncddb-tool version 0.4.7<br \/>\ntraceroute (used instead of ping due to some networks blocking ICMP traffic)<br \/>\nlibwww-perl (used for the GET binary to grep web pages)<br \/>\nvorbis-tools 1.4.0<\/p>\n<p>TO DO:<br \/>\nAdd other formats to encode to ie shn, wv, ogg<br \/>\nAdd more arguments or config file.<br \/>\nDo an ebuild :)<br \/>\nConvert from bash to perl (add freedb submission)<\/p>\n<p>Tweaks and Fixes:<br \/>\n13th Nov 2011: Added WAV support<br \/>\n19th Nov 2011: Added OGG support<br \/>\n21st Jan 2012: Added ripping to wav image with cue file<br \/>\n11th Feb 2012: Added rip speed, tidy log file, corrected removal of temp files.<\/p>\n<p>How to use:<br \/>\nSeveral arguments can be passed at runtime.\u00a0 Any arguments not used, the defaults will be used.<\/p>\n<p>The current defaults are:<br \/>\nDevice: \/dev\/sr0 (auto detected)<br \/>\nSample Offset: (grepped from accurip)<br \/>\nEncoder: LAME<br \/>\nBitrate: 320kbps CBR<br \/>\nMode: Stereo<br \/>\nQuality: 0<br \/>\nCDDB: FREEDB<\/p>\n<p>OPTIONS:<\/p>\n<pre>-d&lt;devicenode&gt;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 usually \/dev\/sr0 \r\n-b&lt;bitrate&gt;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0  lame bitrate \r\n-o&lt;quality&gt;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 ogg quality \r\n-t&lt;track #&gt;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 all|single|range|image\r\n-e&lt;encoder&gt;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 lame|flac|wav|ogg \r\n-c&lt;cddb&gt;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 local|net\r\n-s&lt;rip speed&gt;
