This process is very easy. \u00a0Obviously I'll be using \u00a0a Linux host, but the process should be the same for a windows host.<\/p>\n
First thing is to detach the vdi from the VM we wish to expand.<\/p>\n
Open the VirtualBox Manager GUI.<\/p>\n
Open the settings for the VM to modify.<\/p>\n
Click Storage on the left<\/p>\n
Right click the VDI to change and select Remove Attachment.<\/p>\n
Now open a terminal and enter the following command (change for your details)<\/p>\n
VBoxManage modifymedium \"\/path\/to\/win10\/win10.vdi\" --resize 50000<\/pre>\n(The resize value is in MB)<\/p>\n
As soon as you press enter, the vdi will be expanded.<\/p>\n
Now re-attach the vdi to the VM<\/p>\n
Open the settings for the VM to modify.<\/p>\n
Click Storage on the left<\/p>\n
Right click on the Controller and select Add Hard Disk<\/p>\n
Then Choose existing disk<\/p>\n
Browse to the VDI file.<\/p>\n
Now we need to configure windows to use the new space.<\/p>\n
Start up the VM.<\/p>\n
Right click on the Start button and select Disk Management<\/p>\n
Right click on the drive you want to expand and select Extend Volume.<\/p>\n
Click Next a few times.<\/p>\n
